Industry experience


  • Developed strong junior coaching programs in the following golf clubs – Sandy Gallop, Rosewood, Karana Downs, Lowood, Ipswich Country Club as well as introducing golf in the school programs at – Ipswich State High, Bremer High, Ipswich Girls Grammar, Bundamba High and St Mary’s College.
  • Over 40 years’ experience in golf industry – pro shop management, stock control, equipment knowledge and club fitting, merchandising, course development and expertise, golf technology and coaching techniques, human resource management promotion, club management, tournament organisation, administration in the golf industry, responsible service of alcohol, responsible management of licensed premises.
  • Delivered Golf Component of Certificate 1V Workplace Training Course at Hills Educational Foundation 2001-2002.
  • Introduced golf to international students in Japan, Thailand, Korea, Singapore, Taiwan and Malaysia giving golf clinics and seminars for Hills Educational Foundation as well as students in Australia. During the time as Director of the Hills Golf Academy set up a very comprehensive golf program to suit young golfers at all levels from the elite player to the introductory golf for the junior school classes. Head coach of the first successful Hills Team of players (including Jason Day) who won the Australian School Championship in Victoria in 2002. This same team followed up by winning the Trans-Tasman School Teams Championship in New Zealand.
  • Coached – 1998-2000 Taiwan National Junior Squad including outstanding young player Yani Tseng; winner of five major professional tournaments.
  • Head Coach and Team Manager for Hills School Students to 2008 Callaway World Junior Tournament, 2010 SICC International tournament in Singapore and 2010 Optimist International tournament at PGA National, Florida.
  • Worked with Brisbane and District Ladies Golf Association using coaching experience for their Inter-District Pennant Team and their talented junior players. Engaged in junior coaching camps for the Brisbane and District Ladies Golf Association and the South East Queensland District Association.
  • Passionate about coaching and helping golfers to obtain their optimum performance and enjoyment from their game. Therefore continually seeking to extend knowledge of golf and improve coaching techniques by upgrading accreditation with the Australian PGA Professional Development Program Accreditation Scheme.
